This is a participative workshop guided by Vicky Ireland on playing with your children through the use of characters, stories, music and movement. You will learn the importance and difference between self-directed play and guided play, and how to always remember at the centre of it all, is empowering your children with the use of their imagination!

Bring out the character in you!

This fun and participatory parent/child workshop will get both of you moving and expressing your inner character. Join Canada’s “nearly world-famous” DuffleBag Theatre co-founders Marcus Lundgren and Rod Keith as they offer a unique workshop of fairy tale creation based on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Using a mix of games, exercises and improvisation, you and your child will create your very own Fairy Tale character and help it come to life in a brand new story!

Workshop for ages 2 to 6 with Parent

Be enthralled into the pretend world of Marmalade as Claire Parsons, the choreographer of the dance theatre piece, gives you a taster session to step into the shoes and understand what it is like to be Moa and Viktor, the dancers of the show. Stimulating imagination and poetic movement as you and your little one conjure up what Marmalade can be – a mix of apples and oranges or berries and bananas? By the end of this session, the both of you will be prancing out of the room dancing round like an apple, bouncy like a plum or big like a melon!
