In conjunction with the#BuySingLit Programme, our one-off Drama Workshops will use the power of storytelling and role playing to provide an all-rounded experience for both you and your child to realise, enjoy and love amazing Singaporean literature written by local authors.

Our enjoyable 60-minute parent and child workshop for the 3 year-olds and fun 90-minute drop off session for the 4 to 6s will use storybooks as a foundation to jump off from. Your child will learn how to use his creativity and imagination to play, discover and reenact these stories through the voice and body with the help of music and simple props.

The Amazing Sarong

With just their mother’s sarong, join Adi and Nora and discover the unexpected fun, joy and new encounters the seemingly ordinary Malay traditional piece of clothing can bring. Under the guidance of our Drama Teacher, you and your child will open up possibilities to use your imagination and creativity to play and make believe. Place the sarong on the ground and use it as a picnic mat; or be like a superhero with a powerful super cape; or even better, imagine being a mighty Rajah with a bright and colourful turban; the sarong’s possibilities are endless!

Karung Guni Boy

Introduce your child to the fascinating world of the Karung Guni Man and recycling. Ming is an intelligent boy who loves to create inventions to help people but just doesn’t have the money to make them. Nevertheless, he comes up with a brilliant idea when he notices the neighbourhood karung guni man making his rounds. With simple props and music, your child will learn to work together with other children as they role play the story ultimately building their own ambitious recycled inventions that can help all!
