Inclusive Learning for Differentiated Needs

We understand that finding an inclusive enrichment environment that truly supports children with diverse needs is a priority for many families. To provide a dedicated space for these learners, ACT 3 Drama Academy is proud to partner with Tesserae, a specialised therapy and enrichment centre that supports neurodiverse children with developmental and behavioural needs.

Who Is This Program For?

This Dance program is exclusively for neurodiverse children aged 5 and above.
The curriculum is tailored to the developmental stage of the students:
• Younger children engage in basic movements, rhythm play, and imitation.
• Older children and teens explore more complex choreography, teamwork, and performance-based skills.

With individualised teaching, every child moves forward at a pace that suits them, regardless of their ability level.

The Approach

This program is thoughtfully designed for children who learn best with clear structure, predictable routines, gentle pacing, and supportive guidance. It utilizes Tesserae’s unique methodology, which combines the creativity of the arts with the rigour of behavioural science.

The curriculum is led by Dr Dominic Leong, a specialist in special needs education, who dedicated his research to understanding how neurodiverse children learn movement, rhythm, and choreography. It focuses on helping children understand and remember movements through clear cues, predictable routines, and supportive guidance.

Program Benefits

The fun part is the dancing. The best part is the progress. This program supports neurodiverse children in the following ways:

Builds Motor Skills: Helps your child improve coordination, balance, and overall movement in a structured way.
Supports Sensory Regulation: Uses rhythm and movement to provide the right kind of sensory input to help children feel calm and focused.
Enhances Communication Skills: Encourages children to express themselves through movement and understand cues like turn-taking and shared attention.
Boosts Cognitive Learning: Strengthens memory, focus, and the ability to follow steps by learning simple choreography.
Grows Social Skills: Provides a safe, welcoming space to practice interacting and cooperating with others.
Encourages Independence: Builds confidence by helping children start tasks on their own and manage their own learning.
