Stimulate curiosity for Theatre with a unique IN YOUR SCHOOL Show and Drama Workshop programme that will encourage self-discovery, exploration and critical thinking!
Your students will begin the journey by watching a 30-minute recorded theatrical PERFORMANCE inspired by quality literature. With the story fresh in their minds, your students will further this experience with an enriching DRAMA WORKSHOP where they will unpack the story and its themes by using various drama tools and techniques. Guided by our Drama Educators, your students will build awareness to share perspectives and question thoughts and intentions.
The Caged Parrot
Combining a mix of art forms – storytelling, dramatisation, dance, song, and colourful costumes – The Caged Parrot is a Persian folk tale about a merchant who traps a wild parrot and keeps her in a beautiful cage in his big house. Thinking that she will be happy living there, he offers her good food and treats her well. One day, she requests that he passes a message to her parrot brothers and sisters deep in the forest. After going through a long and tiring journey, and meeting different birds along the way, the merchant realises that even though the parrot is happy, all she wants is to fly freely in the wild as herself – a wild parrot.
Exploring the themes of HAPPINESS, FREEDOM and KEEPING PROMISES, students will participate in fun and engaging Drama activities that will encourage verbalisation and physicalisation of thoughts and feelings. Our Actors and Drama Educators will also encourage your students to unpack the different viewpoints of the various characters.

The Magic Paintbrush
A Captivating Tale of Kindness and Empathy
Our engaging performance, inspired by an old folktale, revolves around the story of Ma Liang, a young boy, who, despite his humble circumstances, chooses kindness over greed. When he receives a magic paintbrush from an old beggar, the tale takes a fascinating turn. This paintbrush can bring whatever he paints to life, sparking both wonder and ethical dilemmas.
Our program is tailored to highlight essential themes of EMPATHY, KINDNESS, and GENEROSITY, all from diverse angles. Your students will be guided through this journey by our skilled Actors and Educators. They will not only witness the story come to life through an interactive performance but also engage in open discussions and a dynamic drama workshop. These activities are designed to encourage your students to share their thoughts and feelings, deepening their understanding of the themes.
Bringing your students to ‘The Magic Paintbrush’ promises not just an entertaining outing but a learning experience that will inspire empathy, kindness, and generosity, fostering valuable life lessons that extend beyond the theatre.

The Jungle Book
Inspired by The Jungle Book
by Rudyard Kipling
The Jungle Book, inspired by Rudyard Kipling’s classic tale, is about Mowgli a jungle boy raised and accepted by wolves. However, although Mowgli is well versed with the laws of the jungle, one day, the wolf pack banishes him to live with the men in the village because he is, after all, Man. Mowgli tries his very best to fit in, but the villagers reject him out of fear due to his animalistic behaviour. Just where does Mowgli belong? Will he ever be accepted?
This programme will incorporate Drama tools for analytical discourse and inquiry focusing on the themes of IDENTITY, BELONGING, ACCEPTANCE, and LOYALTY. With an insightful experience into the world of Theatre and Drama, our Actors and Drama Educators will open up a world of possibilities for your students to deliberate, make connections, and share perceptions and opinions.

Hansel, Where are You?
Inspired by the Brothers Grimm Tale
Things are not what they seem in this recreation of the classic tale by the Brothers Grimm. Hansel has mysteriously disappeared into the dark forest which pushes Gretel to find strength within herself to search for him and uncover the truth. Despite knowing the dangers lurking within, she steps into the unknown only to realise that the search is futile. Abandoned by her father, she meets a woman who invites Gretel to her home. Faced with dilemmas, Gretel must now make her choice.
Hansel, Where are You? is about Gretel’s journey, focusing on issues such as ABANDONMENT, LOSS, UNCERTAINTY, MORAL DILEMMAS, and FAMILY CONFLICT, eventually driving the key messages of COURAGE, RESILIENCE, and RESPONSIBILITY. It will offer your students a platform to share their thoughts and feelings, discuss and make sense of the world of the narrative. Our workshop will further unpack the above themes through a multitude of Drama activities that will eventually spur your students to draw from their own personal experiences, ultimately finding meaning, making connections and offering possible resolutions.
