Hansel, Where are You?

Inspired by the Brothers Grimm Tale

Things are not what they seem in this recreation of the classic tale by the Brothers Grimm. Hansel has mysteriously disappeared into the dark forest which pushes Gretel to find strength within herself to search for him and uncover the truth. Despite knowing the dangers lurking within, she steps into the unknown only to realise that the search is futile. Abandoned by her father, she meets a woman who invites Gretel to her home. Faced with dilemmas, Gretel must now make her choice.

Hansel, Where are You? is about Gretel’s journey, focusing on issues such as ABANDONMENT, LOSS, UNCERTAINTY, MORAL DILEMMAS, and FAMILY CONFLICT, eventually driving the key messages of COURAGE, RESILIENCE, and RESPONSIBILITY. It will offer your students a platform to share their thoughts and feelings, discuss and make sense of the world of the narrative. Our workshop will further unpack the above themes through a multitude of Drama activities that will eventually spur your students to draw from their own personal experiences, ultimately finding meaning, making connections and offering possible resolutions.

Macbeth

Inspired by William Shakespeare’s Play

Our story is told from the perspective of three sisters who manipulate the life and death of protagonist, Macbeth. As they foresee his future of becoming king, the flames of ambition, power, and greed begin to ignite in both him and his wife, Lady Macbeth. When the prophecies come true, Macbeth must be stopped. Can the three sisters orchestrate his downfall?

Our programme will offer your students a different way to experience Shakespeare that will excite, engage, and inspire. Your students will explore the moral dilemmas and motivations of the different characters as they struggle with AMBITION, POWER, GREED, LOYALTY, and the MEANING OF FRIENDSHIP. The workshop will flesh out the above themes through a combination of critical thinking approaches incorporated with Drama tools such as Freeze Frames and Role Play that will invite conversations and the sharing of perspectives. Through this sharing, your students will begin to express themselves physically and verbally, eventually making meaning as they are drawn into the narrative.

What To Expect
At your school, this programme will begin with a 30-minute prerecorded theatrical performance of the story followed by a choice of multi-sensorial workshops. You can choose a workshop conducted in-class, via Zoom or on video.

Alice

Inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
by Lewis Carroll

Alice is about a young girl trying to make sense of who she is in a distorted world filled with challenges and complexities that confuse her. Constantly encountering strange rules in Wonderland, Alice goes on a quest to understand herself, her perceptions and her identity.

Centering on significant themes such as IDENTITY, UNIQUENESS, RESPONSIBILITY, COURAGE, RESILIENCE and ADAPTABILITY, our programme will incorporate Drama, Language and Music that will take your students on a journey of discovery through the imagination. Stepping into Alice’s shoes, they will share their thoughts and feelings re-enacting scenes through physicalisation and verbalisation. Through our Drama workshop, your students will learn about themselves and their strengths, what it means to be unique, and how to manage the ever-changing world they live in and adjust to those changes.
